Having the police turn up at your house after inviting a small group of friends over at 5pm isn't something you'd expect. But it became the unthinkable reality for one person who was simply having six pals over for Thanksgiving.
His furious neighbour claimed he had called the police and left a damning note on the front door of his apartment. One of the guests who attended the gathering took to Reddit to share what the note said - and it makes for grim reading.
In the title of the post, the author shared that he recently went to a Friendsgiving gathering at a friend's apartment which was due to start at around 5pm with only six guests due to be there on a Saturday.
However, just 15 minutes before the event was due to start, a neighbour knocked on the front door before taping a note to the door and quickly heading back to their apartment.

The note began by saying: "Hello, I am not sure why you would feel it is appropriate to have a 15+ person Friendsgiving in these apartments with the walls being as thin as they are. "
The neighbour continued by saying he was an attorney who worked long hours both early in the morning and late at night so did not feel it was respectful for somebody to have this small gathering in the building.
"I will not tolerate you having essentially a party next door," they wrote.
"I will not tolerate the noise.
"I have already informed the police of your intention. If I hear you, I will call. We must all respect one another. Thanks."
In response, many have been quick to support the person having the gathering.
One wrote: "They think mentioning the police will make people back off and stop what they are doing even if its not illegal at all and there’s a zero percent chance the police comes."
While another said: "Just ignore him and move on with your life. Be informed about local noise ordinances before any theoretical police arrive so you know how to answer the responding officers."
