Neighbours leave people baffled with garden furniture spat - but it's not all as it seems

A 'neighbourly dispute' has gone viral online after a woman appeared to call out her shameless neighbour for stealing her garden furniture - but there's a catch.

The woman, known as Susan in the clip, explains in the heated video that she was looking forward to relaxing outside after work when she noticed the L-shaped bench and table had 'disappeared'.

In a seemingly audacious move, her 'neighbour' Adam claimed to have swiped the al fresco furniture for a party he was having that evening, insisting he was only "borrowing" it.

Footage of Susan confronting the brazen man show the two coming to blows, as he even asks to borrow them for another night.

"What gives you the right to take it? That's my table and chairs?" she asks.

Furious, Susan also asks why he didn't ask for her permission reiterating that he has her phone number.

"I've asked for things before and you've never said I can borrow them," Adam tells her in the clip, which has since been viewed by thousands after it was shared on TikTok.

"So I thought, you weren't in, you hardly ever use it."

But Susan lashed out at Adam's excuses, saying she was planning to sit outside and relax and demanding he return the furniture by 6pm that night.

During the row, it's also claimed Adam previously borrowed her plant pots, garden ornaments and barbeque as she yells at him to buy his own.

But her protestations fall on deaf ears, as he claims "I can't afford to buy one just for one night", saying, "you bought it two years ago" and that it's "still got the cellophane on the legs".

"I don't care. It's not yours to take," Susan quips.

"You're an absolute joke and I'm sick of it."

Adam even cheekily suggests he'll be keeping the furniture for another evening, insisting he was only "borrowing" it and that everything would be returned.

"It was a last minute spur of the moment party. I thought, 'ooh I need some chairs'."

"They're there for the minute anyway 'cause I've got another party tonight."

Susan even threatens to call the police on her neighbour, saying, "you better get prepared, hadn't you?" to which he cheekily quips, "ask them to bring a bottle, because I need some beers".

The fiery exchange has certainly caught the attention of people online, as the viral clip has been viewed thousands of times. But it turns out that it's not all as it seems, as the so-called neighbours are actors playing out a skit. Either way, it's a scenario that many people are familiar with.

People in the comments urged the fictional neighbour to call the police.

One person writes: "Call 6-8 of your guy friends and just have them show up.

"If he has an argument then let him make it if he dares."

Another suggests to "climb into the garden with friends and claim it back".

"This happened to me," a third person wrote.

"Neighbour rented out his house and needed garden furniture so he pinched mine!"
