'My love' - Allan Saint-Maximin responds to Joe Willock's Newcastle United return

Allan Saint-Maximin had called on Newcastle United to sign Joe Willock permanently and appears over the moon that the club have done just that - bringing 'my love' back to Tyneside.

The Frenchman took to Instagram in the moments after Willock's move was confirmed to post the caption alongside a picture of the midfielders' unveiling.

Willock has signed a six-year-deal with the Magpies in a move that has banked Arsenal at least £20m and his arrival marks the first of the summer transfer window.

Speaking after the end of last season, Saint-Maximin was clear when it came to the talents of Willock.

"He is an amazing player. He runs fast, he can score goals, his technique, he has got good ability.

"For me, he is a really, really good player. We need more players like him, I think, if we want to be in the top 10."

The duo has struck up a good relationship in the the five months Willock initially was on Tyneside and spent time togther in Greece during the summer.

Willock's arrival came too late for him to be registered in time for the new season but the deal alone will be enough to be boost spirits within the squad and on the terraces ahead of the season opener against West Ham on Sunday.
