My London: Noomi Rapace

Home is…

An old blacksmith’s that I bought in Kensal Rise. I’ve done work on the top floor, but basically I’ve left things quite rough: concrete floors and brick stone walls. It’s big — I can fit about 80 people in my house.

Where do you work out?

White City House. It has a good gym — dark and big. Dark is important: I hate it when people look at me when I work out.

Favourite pub or club?

I like Laylow a lot. I did my birthday party there and we left in the morning. It feels like a home and it’s very close to me. I like going to The Box if I’m with my crew. But to be honest, I do a lot of parties in my house, and I feel like they are always the best parties.

Best thing a cabbie has ever said to you?

There was this one guy who said, when Prometheus came out, ‘You remind me so much of this girl that I saw in a film a week ago.’ I was like, ‘Oh yeah, really?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, but she’s prettier than you!’ It’s good for me to know the film version of me is prettier.

Who is your most iconic Londoner?

Oscar Wilde. Although I do love Sid Vicious. I was a punk girl growing up. So the baby-child of Oscar Wilde and Sid Vicious.

Best meal you’ve had?

I love Japanese food, so I think Umu on Bruton Place. It was a mix of different sashimi and stuff, and it was just melting in my mouth. I’ll never get over it.

If you could buy any building, which would it be?

I did a fashion shoot in the old Central Saint Martins building, and you can see all of London from the top floor. It is run down but still stunningly beautiful. I would make lots of apartments for everyone I love.

What are you up to at the moment?

I’ve just finished Jack Ryan for Amazon. I shot a movie in New Orleans called The Secrets We Keep. And NCP Olfactives, my fragrance company, a baby project that I’ve been working on for a couple of years. The Piece started because I needed to have my own fragrance on me, but I lose things. So things that actually hang on me stay!

Where would you recommend for a first date?

I love being out dancing the whole night. Give me sweaty dance floors over a cool VIP room with too much air conditioning. So that, and then go to Balans in Soho for breakfast, at maybe seven in the morning? That’s a good date. And a long one. Either you’ll never talk to the person again, or it’s marriage.

Where would you like to be buried?

I would like to be cremated, then I would like everyone I love to have a party where they divide my ashes between them, a teaspoon each, and then they can go to their favourite places in London and spread it. I would be all over the city.
