‘My knees were sore’: Woman goes to her best friend’s wedding. Then the bride’s request sends her to the hospital

A woman tries to hype up other wedding guests on the dance floor. However, one wrong move lands her in the hospital needing urgent surgery.

In a video with over 167,000 views, TikToker DLT (@doritos_locos_tacos.dlt) lies in a hospital bed in a neck brace. But that’s not how she thought her night would go.

“Put a finger down if you were at your best friend’s wedding and the bride came up to you and was like, ‘Hey, you gotta get the dance floor going,'” the TikToker recounts.

She and her husband started to do “the worm” until her knees were sore. Then the couple decides to try a line-dancing routine.

That’s when everything goes wrong.

Why did the wedding dance send her to the hospital?

Her husband throws her into the air and tries to catch her.

“We learned this really cool trick because we think we’re Dancing with the Stars,” she says. “We were a little tipsy.”

However, he misses and she tumbles to the floor. In a follow-up video, she shares a clip of the accident. Her husband swings her over his head into a handstand, and she tumbles over the back of his shoulders.

“I landed on my head and my neck. I broke my clavicle,” she shares. “Now I’m getting urgent orthopedic surgery the next day.”

It’s hard to say how many wedding guests spend the after-party at the hospital. However, one report from New Zealand suggests that over 1,000 wedding-related injury claims were filed during a five-year span from 2011 to 2016.

The caption reads, “Pain meds were cutting in a lot during this story!”

Despite breaking her clavicle, the TikToker’s mom decides to try to revive the dancefloor again. In another follow-up video, she jokes about beckoning guests to start dancing while DLT waits for medical attention.

How did viewers react to her accident?

In the comments, viewers praise the wedding guest for her commitment to livening up the dance floor.

“Man talk about VIP, your not only the life of the party, you almost GAVE your LIFE for the party!!! Your a real ride or die,” one jokes.

“If my best friend isn’t willing to do all this for me at my wedding, imma find new friends. You were obvi the life of the party girl!! I hope you heal fast,” another says.

Others joke that she should use the experience to get “whatever she wants” from her husband.

“He will never live this down. Oh, you don’t want to get ice cream? Remember the time you DIDN’T CATCH ME AND I HAD SURGERY?” a commenter suggests.

“That’s one long finger down story. Your husbands never living this one down,” another writes.

“Now’s your chance to get whatever you’ve been wanting from your husband. New car, you got it babe,” a third says. DLT replies, “I will be getting the red bottom cowboy boots!”
