'My husband told me looking after our baby isn't difficult after refusing to help me'

Taking care of babies can be a huge challenge for any parent. Whether it's the cleaning up after them or the nursing them to sleep, there is no end to the job and it can be really difficult and exhausting for all. But one woman is furious with her husband after he claimed that taking care of their baby was not actually difficult, but just 'tiring'.

The woman explained that they have a seven-month-old who is not getting much sleep and as the mum is not currently working she is the one to get up in the night with the baby.

In a Reddit post, the woman, who remained anonymous, explained that she recently asked her husband for help one afternoon to look after the baby and he refused and just gave her some pointers as to how she could be doing better.

The mum explained in the post: "I was just asking him for an afternoon in which he stays at home instead of going to help his sister with the renovation so he can rest.

"Our seven-month-old baby sleeps terribly and I spend the nights alone (I'm not working)."

She then went onto explain that her husband refused to do this and then provided some advice which left the mum fuming.

She said: "He says he can't take care of the baby because he nurses to sleep, that I need to change the baby's habits to fit better and that he can't help me.

"He said that taking care of babies is not difficult, just exhausting, that he doesn't see any complications. I'm so angry," said the mum.

In response, many have been in support of the mum but have been sympathetic of the situation.

One person wrote: "Can you lay out what you need from him? I know it's very frustrating because it feels like they should know and not need direction - I'm there with you."

While another stated: "If it's not difficult then why can't he do it? Make it make sense."
