After you've been with your other half for a while, and begin to feel more comfortable with each other, it's only natural that there will be a few farts and burps along the way.
Given that breaking wind is a perfectly normal bodily function, you'd expect to hear the person you love and share a bed with trump every now and then - and most wouldn't see it as a particularly big deal.
However, one woman has been left a little taken aback after her husband of five years told her off for farting in front of him, telling her to "act like a real lady".
Taking to Reddit, the baffled wife described the situation as "ridiculous".
Her husband is "convinced" she's done something wrong by breaking wind, but she doesn't get his outage at all. She now wonders whether or not there's something she's overlooked.

The anonymous 34-year-old woman - who goes by the username u/Same_Step - wrote: "We've had a really successful marriage with few hiccups or significant arguments.
"Yesterday I was watching TV with him while resting my head on his lap when I farted. He asked, 'Did you just fart...?' I answered yes and he then said 'Don't do that in front of me. It's nasty and unladylike'. I could sort of understand the nasty bit, but it was unladylike?"
She continued: "In a grumpy mood, he got up from the couch and went into our bedroom by himself. I attempted to speak with him and ask him to express why he was so unhappy, but all he said was that I needed to 'learn some respect and act like a real lady around my husband'".
The poster, who is still "very confused" about their disagreement, clarified that she had passed gas accidentally, and hadn't done it deliberately. She also confirmed that her husband farts "a lot" in front of her, something that she says doesn't bother her too much.
Her fellow Reddit users have been left equally bemused by the situation, particularly given the length of their relationship.
One person wrote: "Honestly if that was how my husband acted, I never would have married him. When it's just him and me, we laugh and joke about bodily functions because they're normal".
Another advised: "The next time he farts in your presence, which I'm willing to bet he does, inform him that he's being ungentlemanly and leave the room in a huff".
