With the cost of living rising, we're all taking a look at our finances and looking at ways we can reduce our spending.
But one woman has said her husband has taken saving money to new extremes, as she revealed he's so reluctant to spend cash that he's developed a special walk that stops him from wearing out the carpet in their home.
Amber Horne, who posts on TikTok under the username @theamberhorne, regularly shares her husband's bizarre money-saving tips on her account, and in one recent video, she revealed he only ever steps on the very outside of their stairs so that he doesn't wear out the middle section of the carpet where everyone else walks.

The woman, from Oregon, USA, said: "Welcome to another episode of 'my husband is so cheap that' ...."
To which her husband then added: "When I go up and down our stairs, I make sure to use the outside of the steps to reduce the overall wear and tear on the carpet so that it'll last years longer."
He then gave a demonstration of his walk, which sees him stretch his legs out to reach the edges of each step.
The mum-of-five said: "He tries to get us to do that, too."
And while some people agreed that the man's special walk was a sure sign of him being "cheap", others thought his idea was actually "genius".
One person said: "That’s super cheap ... he’s got some smart ones but sheesh."
But another disagreed, adding: "I do this on my blue-stone driveway as well! Brilliant!"
While a third said: "That is some genius level idea."
Other commenters were confused as to why Amber's husband was wearing shoes in the house, with many saying he would wear out his carpets less often if he took them off.
Someone said: "Just don't wear shoes in the house."
As someone else added: "So he’ll just wear out the outsides of the carpet, doesn’t really make a difference. And why is he wearing shoes in the house?"
Amber previously shared videos in which she revealed her husband reuses kitchen roll by hanging each sheet of paper out to dry, as well as reusing tin foil and diluting milk with water to make it last longer.
In other videos, her husband tells how he also refuses to pay for expensive things like hotel rooms and recalls a time his car broke down while on a work trip, so he slept on some bleachers outside of a high school, using his backpack as a pillow.
