'My husband and I sleep in separate beds - our relationship is better than ever'

A mum has divided opinion after revealing that she and her husband sleep in separate beds through the week, but insists it has even made their intimate relationship better.

Terri-Ann Michelle recently took to TikTok to explain why they decided to that step, while reassuring her followers that it doesn't always mean your marriage is in trouble.

Posting from her handle @terriannmichelle, Terri-Ann shared a clip of herself dancing at home while telling followers: "I know a lot of people will disagree with this BUT I don’t care."

"My husband and I don’t sleep in the same bed (during the week) & it’s made our intimate relationship BETTER," Terri-Ann continued.

"We have very different schedules and sleeping habits which was causing a huge problem for us. Sleeping in different beds does NOT ruin marriages and it’s more common than you think."

In the caption, she added: "Intimacy doesn’t start in the bedroom."

Quickly after posting the clip, Terri-Ann was inundated with comments from other TikTok users who no longer share a bed with their significant other for the benefit of their marriage.

"Omg I cannot stand sleeping with my husband. He’s a fireman and the worst sleeper! It’s not about outdated marriage 'rules' it’s about sleep," one TikTok user wrote.

Another added: "OMG US TOO! I’ve almost felt embarrassed for people to know, people judge, think it’s weird. New business & new baby! we had to do something! Sleep!"

But, not everyone agreed, with one woman commenting: "I can’t sleep without my husband. He can’t sleep well without me. I’ll keep it that way. It doesn’t make much sense to not sleep together."

"Nope I married my husband for better or worse," another added. "I can't imagine not having him in our bed. I would miss him."
