A football obsessive who spent all his cash getting to Qatar for the World Cup is going to pay the price when he gets back home, as his wife is seething that she's been left with no money to plan Christmas.
She was so incensed at his miserly ways that she has decided that this year there will be no Christmas at all - leaving some people divided over her reaction.
Taking to Reddit to ask whether her response was reasonable, the woman, who remains anonymous, explains that her husband's trip is a once-in-a-lifetime moment but she can't get past how much its impacted their household finances.

She explained: "I'm a stay at home mom [sic] with three kids. My husband works full time and gets an okay salary. BUT he's tightened the grip on spending for the past four months to be able to save up to go watch the football event overseas.
"He's literally obsessed with anything to do with football. He said he rarely ever gets to do what he wants and so I didn't want to judge him since it's his money eventually."
Everything seems cordial between the couple until Christmas came up, as the woman continued: "He told me to handle everything and to put aside money for Christmas decorations, food, gifts, kids needs etc."
But the left a sum of money he left to cover all expenses has left his wife in shock. This is only exacerbated when she learns he's covering the cost of the trip for others: "I told him $100 for an entire family's Christmas celebration was ridiculously not enough.
"He shrugged saying, 'it's all he's got'. I pointed out how he's paying for his friend's and his girlfriend's travel expenses."
The husband refused to back down, as the woman explained further: "He told me to just 'take it' but I said that if he decided to leave me with just 100 bucks then I won't be doing anything for Christmas."
Lots of arguments have left the issue unresolved, but he's made his way to Qatar nonetheless. Meanwhile his message to sort Christmas out did not go down well with his wife.
"Yesterday I found an envelope with the same $100 and a note from him telling me 'to make it work'. I sent him a message that I've decided that I won't be doing anything for Christmas with this little money, period.

"He was livid and just kept sending angry message after another, calling me 'spoiled' and telling me to stop expecting to live like I was still living in my parents house and to stop trying to 'rob' the kids of enjoying the holidays like the other kids."
She's determined to hold her ground but wonders if it is a step too far: "He's livid saying I'm punishing him for going and trying to guilt him using his own money."
Many people flooded to the comments section on the Reddit post to show support for the woman.
One argued: "He is incredibly selfish and neglects his duties of being the sole breadwinner of his family."
There was bewilderment from other commenters at his priorities: "This is what got me - he paid for three people to travel but leaves his family with $100 for Christmas? That’s insane. In what world is this justifiable?"
A third person said: "This man is trash. He is ridiculously entitled and selfish. Anyone with a "partner" like this. You deserved so much better."
