PM Modi asks young voters to defeat dynastic parties, as BJP releases first Lok Sabha campaign video

Prime Minister Narendra Modi told first time voters to defeat dynastic parties which do not allow other youngsters to move ahead, at an outreach programme organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party which also saw the launch of the party’s first campaign video and song, with the theme “Sapne nahin haqeeqat bunte hain, tabhi sab Modi ko chunte hai” (turning aspirations into reality, this is why people choose Modi).

The campaign video showcases the Modi government’s work in his two terms and sources involved said the messaging was tied up with the meta narrative of “Modi ki Guarantee” of delivery which had resonated in the recently concluded Assembly elections in five States where BJP won in three.

Addressing the young voters virtually Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that his government had taken the country out of the darkness staring at youngsters 10-12 years back, adding that their votes will determine India’s future.

“Just as the generations which fought for India’s independence undertook that responsibility, the task of making India a developed nation was for the current generation for the next 25 years,” he said.

Taking a swipe at Opposition parties, Prime Minister Modi said the youth is against corruption and “parivarvaad” (nepotism), adding that family-run parties never allow other youngsters to move ahead. “The mindset of leaders of these parties is anti-youth. You have to defeat these family parties with the strength of your votes,” he said.

He highlighted what he termed the changes that had taken place under his government. “The country is now talking of possibilities which the generation before 2014, the year the BJP came to power at the Centre, has given up hope on,” he said.

“Corruption and scams made headlines then while credibility and success stories are being now talked about, the prime minister said, adding that achievements in different sectors make news these days,” he added.

The presence of a stable and strong majority government at the Centre in the last 10 years had led to big decisions and the resolution of issues pending for decades, he said, citing removal of Article 370, GST roll-out, reservation for women in Lok Sabha and Assemblies, and ending the practice of instant triple talaq among Muslims.
