A woman turned down her boyfriend's nightmare proposal after he made it all about himself and neglected to take any of her wishes onboard.
Her friend had spent months trying to get through to the man about how the woman wants her proposal to go, but he didn't listen.
Posting on a forum, her friend added that on the day of the proposal, the woman ran off after getting upset because of the errors - leaving the marriage hanging in the balance.
The man had not included any of his girlfriend's family in the planning and even made a huge mix up with the ring's engraving.

The friend, who remained anonymous, wrote in her first of two Reddit posts on the subect: "A while back he reached out to me to help figure out ring size and the set up so he could make this the most magical day for her. Having known my friend for over 20+ years, I know exactly how she wants her proposal to go and who she wants to be there, so I relayed all this information to him months ago via texts and over the phone.
"I even took the time to covertly find and confirm which ring she would love the most."
She added that the woman had complained in the past about how he doesn't try hard enough with her friends and family, which upsets her, so she couldn't believe they had been left out of the planning process altogether.
He only planned to have his own friends and family members there, but neglected to invite any of his girlfriend's loved ones.
But things really took a turn on the day when he got down on one knee, which the friend shared in an updated second post.
The author added: "According to her, this is how the situation played out: he popped the question, she said yes and the people he invited popped out from hiding. She was bombarded by four of his guy friends, his mum, dad, older brother and his sister- in- law. His parents were holding a sign that read 'welcome to the family, Mrs (insert his last name here)' and this is where things go down hill.
"My friend doesn't want to change her last name, and she's told him that repeatedly since they got together.
"When she saw the sign she joked 'Mrs (his last name)? I think you mean Mrs (her last name)!' Everyone went silent until his mum said 'Well the ring is already engraved, no changing it now!' She takes the ring off and sees Mrs (his last name) engraved on the band."
After storming off from the proposal and giving the ring back, the woman went to her parents who were still none the wiser about what happened, and the relationship is up in the air after she saw her boyfriend's selfish actions.
"She has been receiving texts from him. The worst one so far is him telling her she has to pay him back for the ring and for ruining his life," wrote the friend.
In response, many were glad she did not get too involved and felt the boyfriend was acting selfishly.

One person wrote: "He legitimately could not comprehend that he was the one who screwed up!"
While another stated: "I know it must've been hard to keep her mouth shut, but man did it work out for the better."
