"My friend breastfed my baby without my consent - I'm traumatised"

A mum has been left traumatised after discovering a friend breastfeeding her baby without her permission. Taking to TikTok, she said she'll always be ‘haunted’ by the incident.

Having a baby puts huge pressure on parents, so people are always happy when friends or family offer to help. But there is a very fine line that can be crossed when relatives offer their advice or support, and in this case, a friend massively overstepped the mark.

User @afieqahhasanah took to the platform last week to share her story. She left her infant - called Haider - in the care of a friend while she prepared for a gathering.

“At the time, I was busy carrying things, and when I arrived, she asked me for Haider, so I just gave him [to her] because she was someone close to me. I didn’t expect that she could do such a thing,” she explained.

“But suddenly while I was carrying those things, I saw that she was, like, doing something at the back in an open hall. Turns out, she was breastfeeding Haider.”

When @afieqahhasanah confronted her friend, the excuse that came back was that Haider had been crying.

She said: “So I couldn’t accept her excuse and I don’t know … I’ll be haunted by this incident.

“Which mother can accept her baby being directly breastfed by someone else while the mother herself has breastmilk?”

Amassing millions of views, people were outraged by the incident. One person wrote: "How can one even do that without thinking!? It's so frustrating to hear this."
