Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it’s up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday’s paper.
This week’s question
My daughter has just turned four, and I’m now taking her to endless other four-year-olds’ parties – and have to buy gifts every time. It’s really starting to add up. What’s the “right” amount to spend, what’s a good thing to buy, and would it be noticed if I didn’t buy anything? There’s never a thank-you.
