"My FIFA rating is a shambles" - Leeds United stars react to their FIFA 22 ratings

The FIFA 22 player ratings for Leeds United were revealed on social media yesterday, and a handful of Leeds players are not happy with the ratings they've been given in FIFA 22.

EA's official release of FIFA 22 in the UK and worldwide is on Friday, October 1, 2021, and EA SPORTS have already confirmed the top 22 rated players in FIFA 22 as well as the full Leeds team, with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi taking the top spot once again.

Leeds ended the previous Premier League campaign in ninth place as they secured a top-half finish on their return to the English top flight after 16 years away, and some impressive campaigns from the Leeds players have seen plenty of upgrades in FIFA 22 for the Whites, however the players aren't too impressed.

Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips both received huge boosts to their overall rating in FIFA 22, with Bamford's card increasing from 71 to 78 and Phillips going from 76 to 81 - making the England international midfielder the second-highest rated payer at the club.

Ayling only received a +1 on his overall rating, with his attacking stats predominantly increasing after an impressive first season in the Premier League.

The Leeds player ratings were teased in a short video on the Leeds official Twitter page, where Bamford, Luke Ayling and Phillips are all seen reacting to their new ratings for the first time - and it's safe to say that the players themselves weren't cheerful with their FIFA 22 stats at all.

At first glance, none of the players seemed very impressed, with Bamford and Phillips seeming the unhappiest of the trio.

“I’m not happy about it, at all,” said Phillips.

“My overall rating should be 82 or 83.”

When asked what he thought of his new FIFA 22 rating, Bamford replied with just one word: “shocking.”

“I’m not too fussed about the defence, it’s the others. The pace, the shooting, in fact, all of it! Shocking."

Bamford then proceeded to walk away and throw his card to the floor, expressing his displeasure once again.

It's no surprise that the striker is unhappy with his FIFA 22 rating, especially after the great season he had just had in the Premier League.

Despite grabbing 17 goals and seven assists in the league last season, Bamford has only increased to 78 overall, which is lower than the majority of strikers in the Premier League.

Despite upgrading in every statistic, his main attributes remain relatively low, with his shooting at 78 and his pace in the low 70's.

Not long after the full reveal, the 28-year-old tweeted his opinions on the new ratings with just three emojis.

In another video released from Leeds’ official Twitter page, Bamford is seen talking on the phone and is approached by Phillips who proceeds to ask, “Is that the FIFA guy?”

When told, the midfielder went on to say “my FIFA rating is a shambles,” once again letting FIFA know how he feels about his rating.
