My female fan following has increased after Baaghi: Sudheer Babu

Telugu actor Sudheer Babu, who made his Bollywood debut with Tiger Shroff-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Baaghi, says he felt he would lose out on his female fans after his negative role in the film.

“I was scared that I would not have many female fans after my role as a villain, but I was surprised to see that it has increased. This role was different from what I have played before. I have always essayed positive roles. Plus we have a family history of having many female fans!” says Sudheer, who is Telugu actor Mahesh Babu’s brother-in-law.

Many actors fear being typecast in Bollywood, but Sudheer has no such apprehensions. “I don’t think that just because I have played a negative role in my first Bollywood film, I will be offered only these characters. In this character, there was a lot of scope for me to perform. I was told by my the director (Sabbir Khan) to treat myself as a parallel hero,” he says.

The actor already has a wishlist of directors who he wants to work with in Bollywood. “My list is very long. I want to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Anurag Kashyap. But I also want to work with new directors. I see how there are many of them who are talented and if I can help them out, then why not,” he says. Meanwhile, Sudheer is busy looking for some great roles in Bollywood. “I am reading four to five scripts . But I have not finalised anything at the moment,” he says.
