My father was my biggest support system, says Anas Rashid whose father passed away a few days ago

Anas Rashid, who was last seen in Diya Aur Baati Hum (the show ended in September 2016), lost his father Muhammad Rashid on April 5 in his hometown Malerkotla. The actor is deeply saddened by his father's sudden demise.

In the past few years, Anas had been spending a lot of time with his parents in his hometown. Anas said, "I have no words, I don't know what to say. I remember my parents used to stay with me in Mumbai when I was acting in Diya Aur Baati Hum and all I would ever want is to finish my work and quickly reach home to spend time with them. After the show got over, within a few months I moved to Malerkotla. My father was always a very happy man who looked after all of us. He was fine but suddenly developed health issues on April 5 and passed away. I am in utter shock and not able to come to terms with it."

Sharing how he was wanting to return to Mumbai and start working, Anas said, "All this while I had taken a break from work because of my parents. I did not want to leave them alone in Malerkotla. But at some point I had to get back to work. It is not that I had no offers, but I was waiting for Abbu and Ammi to return with me to Mumbai. My whole life revolved around my father, he was so happy to be with his grandchildren - my daughter and son. He used to be happy spending time with them. Their closest friend was my Abbu. The first thought that crosses my mind now is that I have to be the most responsible person in the family now, and I don't have my Abbu to consult or ask anything. I am in deep shock and it will take me some time to get okay."

The actor had posted a few pictures with his father on social media after he passed away.
