'My ex-wife gave me Botox to help me find love again - it's boosted my confidence'

A divorcee who is looking to jump back into the dating pool has tried to increase his chances of finding someone to settle down with by having Botox done - by his ex-wife.

Angus Kennedy, 58, finalised his divorce from Sophie Kennedy, 47, in January this year, and while beautician Sophie has already moved on with someone new, Angus is currently single.

The man admitted he was nervous about dating as an older man and after telling Sophie it would be his "last chance to find love", she suggested he "get rid of his wrinkles" by having Botox.

And as a beautician, Sophie was more than happy to administer the Botox herself.

Angus, from Dartford, Kent, said: "I told Sophie that it's my last chance to find love.

"I have been going to the gym, changed my diet and have been buying new clothes. She suggested some Botox to get rid of my wrinkles, so I went for it - and I'm really pleased with the result.

"The fact Sophie went to these lengths to help me meet someone is a testament to our friendship."

Angus and Sophie - who have five children together - filed for divorce in 2021 after mutually agreeing to go their separate ways, but the pair have remained close friends and still regularly meet up for family events.

Chocolate expert Angus is now looking to get back on the dating scene, and said that the Botox Sophie gave him has "done wonders" for his confidence.

He added: "I'd never had any work done before, so I was nervous about the procedure - but I had a lot of trust in Sophie.

"Looks are very important when finding love, even more so now with online dating. The procedure has done wonders for my confidence, which was definitely rocked after the divorce.

"I mainly had my wrinkles around my eyebrows and forehead ironed out which has given me a fresher face. I hope that helps when I go out dating, but only time will tell I guess."

Sophie would usually charge £250 for the type of Botox she gave Angus, but after chatting with her salon's owner, she gave him the treatment on the house.

She said: "I feel it's important Angus has the best chance possible at finding love, and I hope I've played a part in helping him do that."
