My Dublin: The city according to Wyvern Lingo musician Saoirse Duane

Saoirse Duane is one-third of Bray band Wyvern Lingo along with Caoimhe Barry and Karen Cowley, who are both now based in Berlin.

The band recently released a new single and have four sold-out live dates at the Button Factory at the end of the month.

Home is...

I'm currently living in Bray with my Dad and my doggo.

How I get around the city:

I normally use public transport if I am headed into the city but if not I just have an auld stroll to where I need to go.

The best place in the city for a date:

I highly recommend Token [in Smithfield] as a place for a date.

They have unreal craft beers, whopper food and more games then you could possibly imagine. It's the perfect place for a flirty date!

My favourite pub in the city:

You are always guaranteed a delish pint in Grogan’s and the tunes are always banging in P. Mac’s but my favorite hidden gem is The Blue Light in the Dublin Mountains.

There is such a stunning view up there and at night-time you can see the Dublin lights glistening like glitter.

The best meal I've ever had in Dublin:

The Hungry Duck in Perrystown. Order the asparagus if you are going, YUM!

My go-to café or coffee shop:

It used to be Bewley’s sitting out on the James Joyce balcony, but you can't go wrong with Kaph around the corner. The staff are always super-friendly and the coffee is always perfect.

Where I get my exercise:

I'm loving the home workouts at the moment, to be honest. I have a great app and I also love a bit of Yoga With Adriene most mornings.

On a decent day what I've started to do is walk down to the beach, jump in, have a swim and then jog back home to warm up, ‘cause it's freezing!

My favourite shops:

Finders Keepers, Om Diva, Tower Records, Stock and the Health Shop.

My favourite place for a haircut or pampering session:

Tropical Popical to sort out these guitar fingers.

My favourite place in Dublin to get away from it all:

Bray Head. It's so peaceful up there and I find it quite easy to meditate and let go of any negative thoughts.

My favourite place to let my hair down:

The Harbour Bar, Bray when there's a band playing.

The last live event I went to before lockdown:

The Scratch and what a gig that was. This band has such high energy and are super-talented musicians. If you can get yourself to one of their gigs, you won't be disappointed.

Dublin's best kept secret:

The Blind Pig on a Sunday. Delish cocktails and chill jazzy tunes, what more could you ask for!

Wyvern Lingo are due to play the Button Factory on October 25th and 26th, two shows each night - all are sold out.
