Pat Kane is the owner of Reuzi, a shop in Foxrock that specialises in eco-friendly, sustainable products. Born in Brazil but liiving in Dublin for many years, she tells Dublin Live about her favourite haunts in the city.

I live in Foxrock, Dublin 18, with my husband Stephen and my two kids Thomas and Conor.
How I get around the city:
Usually, I either cycle or drive if I'm with the kids. But if I’m by myself I would be basically cycling, or I have an electric scooter.
The best place in the city for a date:
Locally, we love Bistro One [in Foxrock]. We can walk to it so it's really handy – it's just a few doors down from my shop. The food is amazing, the staff is amazing and it's always a winner.
In town, we love going to the Iveagh Gardens, having a stroll around town and having lunch at WILDE in the Westbury – it's one of our go-to the daytime spots.
We also love Taste at Rustic – they have a great bar and we tend to end our nights there.
My favourite pub in the city:
My favourite wine bar is La Ruelle, just off Dawson Street. I adore that place for drinks!
The best meal I've ever had in Dublin:
I was celebrating my business's first anniversary at Bistro One, and I had a vegetarian pasta dish with goat's cheese and fresh tomatoes, which was to die for. If they have it on the menu, I will order it – I don't care what else is there.
My go-to café or coffee shop:
I don’t drink coffee but I’d say Ladurée on South William Street, because it’s so nice and the macarons are so lovely.
Where I get my exercise:
I run – we would go from Foxrock to Dún Laoghaire pier and back. That’s seven miles, more or less – it’s great because you get to see a bit of the area and the pier is so beautiful – you’re running along the coast. It’s definitely a good one.
My favourite shops:
When it comes to kids' clothing, I would always go to Dún Laoghaire. There is a shop that was online and now they've opened an actual store, called The Little Wooden Peg. Gorgeous kids' toys, clothing and that sort of thing.
If I want something a bit more fun for the kids or even for myself, there is also one in Sandymount called Mira Mira. That is pretty gorgeous.
In town, I would always go to Scout in Temple Bar. They have a very nice selection there.
I try to stick to independents and small shops because I know how hard it is.
My favourite place for a haircut or pampering session:
I go to a hair salon in Ranelagh called The Studio – I've been going there for years and it's fantastic.
And if I want a bit of pampering there's a place in Foxrock called Iconic Beauty that has everything you need on the non-hair side of things – mani-pedi, eyebrows and that sort of thing.
Then when it comes to facials, there is an incredible place [in Dublin 2] called Floraison.
My favourite place in Dublin to get away from it all:
We tend to get a room in town, at the Merrion or something like that, and just take the night off. We tend to do that maybe twice a year, just for the weekend. It's a treat.
We would get a treatment at the spa, and then we'll go somewhere for dinner or even at the hotel – the restaurants there are amazing. And then just back to the room and sleep until we wake up – which doesn't happen very often when we have two kids!
My favourite place to let my hair down:
Most of the time, we would just party at friends’ houses.
I find it very hard in Dublin to find a place for my age group, but the bar upstairs at Fade Street Social is nice. The music's nice, the atmosphere and it's always packed - or it was! That's a nice place to go, and the No Name Bar too.
The last live event I went to before lockdown:
I went to see Gavin James at the O2 arena in mid March, literally the week before lockdown. It was amazing, he's a true artist. He's really incredible.
Dublin's best kept secret:
The Shrine of St Valentine [in Whitefriar Street Church] – it’s a beautiful spot and perfect for those planning a romantic proposal. I always say that to my hubby, though we got engaged in Miami – not so romantic!
