'My date blocked me because I turned up two minutes late - men are so sensitive'

If you were running late for a date, how long would you expect them to wait for you? If your answer is less than two minutes, look away now. For everyone else - read on.

One woman has slammed her date after he blocked her for turning up two minutes after their arranged time. Her delay - one most people would find reasonable even if a little annoying - was apparently too much for this romantic. But in a bizarre twist, she later got the chance to quiz her date about his behaviour, and he denied his actions.

Proving that the course of true love never did run smooth, singleton Jenny Nguyen-Don took to TikTok to share her shock after her date when terribly wrong.

Posting to the app, she explained: "I had a date tonight and the plan was to meet at Leicester Square at 6:15." Keen to grab a snack on the way, she texted the mystery man at 5:30pm to let him know she was on her way. However, the odds were against Jenny, who ended up arriving two minutes late. As she did not have phone signal on the tube, she wasn't able to warn her date either.

So when she emerged in the street, ready to meet her date, she had more than one surprise coming. When her phone signal returned, she had several text messages. "Apparently the dude messages me like twice while I'm on the tube. I didn't receive them. He messaged me at 5:47 being like 'cool okay, I just need to drop by my gym and drop off my bag.' I didn't respond cause I was on the tube. I didn't receive it," she explained. Then at 6:09 came another message that read: 'You pranking me Jenny?'"

She attempted to reply but immediately thought something was wrong. "I noticed his Whatsapp photo is no longer there and then when I messaged him 'I'm here' it only gets sent with one checkmark."

Jenny tried again a few minutes later but still nothing. "So I'm like oh my god this man freaking blocked me like just cause he thought I was ghosting," she recalled. But after noticing they were still matched on the dating app where they met, Jenny reached out one more time. One minute later she finally received a response on Whatsapp with his location - and when she looked again her date's photo had reappeared.

In an odd twist, when she finally found him, her date denied blocking her though and said he did not know what happened, but Jenny was not convinced. "What a loser," she said as she concluded her video, before adding the caption: "Men are so sensitive".

The bizarre story quickly went viral, and 3.8 million views later thousands of people were shocked by her story. "That's so intense, anything less than 15 min late is totally fine, especially with the tube," read one reply.

A second said: "Major red flag honestly, blocking you bc you didn't reply for a few minutes, that screams insecurity and impatience."

Another thought: "You were too nice to him," and someone else replied: "The fact that he lied made it even worse."
