'My Christmas party outfit stained my skin bright blue - everyone called me a Smurf'

A woman has left people in stitches after she shared the disastrous results of her Christmas party outfit - which turned her armpits blue after the dye transferred onto her skin.

Beth Gray, 25, bought the Dream Daze Cobalt Blue Feather Bandeau Crop Top from Club London for £65, and had worn it to her work Christmas party, where she was gobsmacked to find that halfway through the event, the bright blue top had left her underarms stained the same vivid hue.

The woman, who is originally from Leeds but now lives in London, was thankfully able to see the funny side of the ordeal and shared a clip of her brightly coloured pits online - where it quickly went viral as other people couldn't stop laughing at the situation.

Beth's video - which she posted to TikTok and which currently has over 1.2 million views - shows her posing at the start of the night before holding her arms up in the bathroom to show her blue-stained skin after an hour of wear, the colour darkening over time and then the remaining stain the following morning.

She said: "I was taking a picture of my friend when she said 'Beth look at your armpit' – I looked down and I was like 'oh my god'. As the night went on this gradually got worse.

"I was at my work's Christmas party. We all had to laugh about it and I was getting called a Smurf.

"I'm so glad I brought a blazer with me to cover up my blue armpits. I had to laugh at the situation then and now."

Beth also said she has spoken to Club London, whom she bought the top from, and they have offered her a refund on her £65 purchase, which is currently being processed.

"I have spoken with Club L and a refund is been processed," she added.

And commenters on TikTok couldn't help but poke fun at the situation too, with one admitting they would "cry" if they found themselves in Beth's position.

One said: "I'd cry."

While another added: "I have the black and the next morning I was covered in black dye on my stomach and thought I'd manage to badly bruise myself."

And a third wrote: "Oh my lord, I'd be fuming."

Club London has been contacted for comment.
