My Chemical Romance tease fans with cryptic new video

My Chemical Romance have teased fans

My Chemical Romance have teased fans with a cryptic video hinting as a potential new project.

The I'm Not Okay (I Promise) emo rock legends are currently in the middle of a world tour celebrating this year's 20th anniversary of The Black Parade, but on Sunday (25.01.26) they shared an Instagram post featuring a very different theme to the ongoing live dates.

The caption read "A GAME YOU WILL PLAY", while the clip - which was also shared to guitarist Frank Iero's account - simply contained the word "PHANTOM" in flicking neon green letters.

The video didn't feature any music or sounds, and it doesn't appear to reference the Black Parade tour, or include any of the same aesthetics.

Fans are becoming convinced the band - which also features Ray Toro and brothers Mikey and Gerard Way - could be preparing to release some new music.

Their last release was 2022 single The Foundations of Decay, which marked their first new material in eight years at the time.

Their final studio album before their breakup in 2013 was 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the fabulous Killjoys, although they did release five double A-side singles as the Conventional Weapons series.

Last year, Iero was asked about the possibility of new MCR music but insisted the band would tell the fans in their own way when there's something to share.

He said to NME: "No, sorry. When that stuff - if that stuff were to happen, we will tell you. We will tell you the way we want to tell you."

My Chem will continued their Black Parade anniversary tour on Monday (26.01.26) in Lima, Peru after being forced to cancel what would have bene their first show of the year last week in Bogota.

They wrote at the time: "Due to reasons beyond the control of ourselves, the promoter, or the venue, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our show in Bogotá, Colombia.

"The new date will be Tuesday, February 10, 2026. The Hives will still open and the schedule will remain uncharged.

"All other dates in South America and Mexico City will continue as planned. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our fans and look forward to seeing you in a few weeks."
