'My bridezilla sister claims I destroyed her wedding by getting married first'

We've all heard of family and friends trying to upstage the happy couple on their wedding day, but one bride has claimed her own brother "destroyed" her wedding, by secretly tying the knot before her.

The bride's brother has revealed how he and his now-wife have been uninvited from the wedding and from the family's Christmas celebrations after they secretly eloped with just one friend present at their nuptials.

According to the brother, his darling sister has been "100 percent bridezilla" since announcing her engagement with a £25,000 ring, and says she's probably spent around £100,000 on the wedding, which is due to take place next year

He was supposed to be a groomsman in the wedding, while his partner of three years was due to one of his sister's bridesmaids, but now the pair have been told they're no longer welcome at the wedding at all.

"My wife is completely different from my sister, she doesn’t care about big weddings or rings or anything like that," the brother wrote on Reddit's Bridezilla forum.

"It was low-key, and we told everyone over the week what happened. It just felt right for us, but my sister is now p***ed as she has already been planning her wedding for a year, and her actual wedding is not until June 2022. She said I had destroyed her wedding by getting married first."

The man responded to his sister telling her that he and his wife had discussed getting married for a while, and "decided we didn’t want a fuss, and it’s probably better to tell everyone after the fact."

Other factors in their decision included it being easier for them to purchase a house together and for her to be on his health insurance, as well as the fact they're "madly in love" with one another.

"My sister won’t listen. She now refuses to spend Christmas around us and has also uninvited us to the wedding," he added, before turning to Reddit to question whether he'd done anything wrong.

One Reddit user commented: "I don't even see how they even close to ruined it they got eloped it’s not like they’re upstaging her in any way."

"If it helps she'll be the first to get divorced. If that was my sister I'd get pregnant out of spite and plan the due date for the same day as the wedding," another added, "but I know I'm a petty a**hole."

A third added: "If your elopement destroyed her marriage (which has not happened yet), then her relationship is not a strong one and is doomed by her attitude."
