'My boyfriend was livid I charged his phone- he says I violated his trust'

A woman was baffled by her boyfriend's accusations that she broke his trust by charging his phone- despite his whinging that he never remembers to do it himself.

It can be a massive pain when your phone runs out of juice overnight so having someone there to pop it on charge for you would be a benefit to many.

So his girlfriend opted to do the helpful thing and plug it in one morning while he was asleep.

But when he woke up he was livid about what happened and said she violated his privacy, even though she did not see anything on it.

Now on Reddit, the woman added that they broke into a huge argument over this.

In the post, she wrote: "We have been together for eight months, and things have been going great so far.

"He usually spends the night at my place for a few days, and for the past three nights, he has been complaining about not being able to wake up early to charge his phone."

So one morning she plugged his phone in without permission and defended herself by saying she just wanted to do something nice.

"I didn't open his phone or anything, just charged it. We had a fight about it and he is saying I violated his privacy and trust," she said.

In response, many have sided with her and said she should be careful of this behaviour.

One person wrote: "If he is that upset with you simply plugging his phone in, please see the red flag this is."

While another stated: "His reaction was a major red flag. Run."

A third penned: "I think most people would consider it as a nice thing to do, because it sucks if your battery runs out middle of night."

Another noted: "There's something way deeper going on with him and it can't be good."
