'My boyfriend wants us to imagine we are having sex with some of our friends'

Dear Coleen

When making love, my boyfriend wants us to imagine we’re having sex with some of our friends. This is quite a new thing and I’m not into it at all – in fact, I find it creepy and weird, and a complete turn-off.

We sometimes do role play and fantasise about other people, but it usually involves strangers.

The friends thing all feels wrong to me, even though I know it’s just fantasy. I can’t help wondering if he would like to re-enact these fantasies in real life, which I find pretty repulsive.

I’d love your opinion.

Coleen says

I can understand why you’re not into it – it would definitely feel weird having a coffee with one of these mates the day after!

If it doesn’t feel right to you, just say no to it. Tell him you don’t want to make your friends part of your sexual role play.

When it comes to making love, you have to speak up about anything you’re not comfortable with. If it doesn’t work for both
of you, then it’s not going to work at all.

And if he gets moody about it, that’s just tough!
