Dogs can be unruly creatures, they can also be too confident for their own good, often overestimating their own capabilities when it comes to fighting other animals. In this case a woman on TikTok shared a video of her boyfriend frantically chasing after their dog after it decided it would be a good idea to chase after a full grown bear and its cub.
The video, which has gone viral on TikTok, was posted by @donebledore (Ashley). The caption reads, “please watch this video of my bfs most valid crashout,” in the clip we see the boyfriend recording a bear and its cub running in the distance. A dog can be heard barking before jumping out of the car and running towards the bears. The boyfriend then begins running at full speed after the pet (whose name is Simon).

This just proves we don’t deserve dogs, they’ll protect their humans from anything, even if they don’t need protecting.
Without a doubt the funniest part of the video is how Ashley’s boyfriend’s voice drops several decibels as he yells to Simon. He sounds like Christian Bale’s Dark Knight interrogating the Joker. However, even Batman himself would probably have trouble controlling a dog as brave and bold as Simon.
TikTok wants to know what happened to Simon
Due to the frantic nature of the recording it’s difficult to see what’s going on. We don’t even get to see Simon on camera as he runs after the bears. However, for a dog to be confident enough to chase after a bear you’d probably imagine a breed that’s big enough and tough enough to actually have a chance, maybe a German Shepherd, or an Irish Greyhound.
Well, Simon isn’t exactly a big dog, and if anything he’s more cute than tough. After one user commented “I need to see Simon now” Ashley was happy to oblige, providing a photo of the little dog.

One viewer wrote, “I was expecting a German shepherd.. maybe an aussie.. I’m bamboozled.” To which Ashley “He thinks he’s Clifford the big red dog or something when he’s actually just a menace.” Others compared Simon to Fenton, an older dog who became well known after a similar video of him chasing deer went viral.

Ashley has been providing updates on Simon since the bear video and thankfully it seems he wasn’t able to catch up to the bears, however, it does look as though the fame has gone to his head.
