A couple were left gobsmacked after discovering they have been raising a stranger's daughter for five years. The 29-year-old woman says her husband accused her of cheating because their child looks nothing like him.
As a result, he decided to take a paternity test to reveal the truth - and was "devastated" about the results. Taking to Reddit, the woman said: "My husband, 31, got a paternity test on our daughter and it came back negative, but I never cheated.
"Now he thinks our relationship is a lie and wants to divorce." Wanting to clear her name, the woman started to investigate their daughter's DNA matches and claims she and her biological daughter were "switched at birth".

She spent weeks tracking down their biological daughter - and has now allegedly started the adoption process to finally bring her home.
"She was in foster care. I don't think it's going to surprise a load of people that the hospital we had her at wasn't in the best area," she added.
"She was taken home by a family who ended up under investigation, and apparently, when she was proven not their biological child, she was taken by the state.
"I feel terrible for that family but at the same time, so grateful to have found her safe and alive. We've started the adoption process immediately."
The woman claims to have sued the hospital for a hefty sum - and is using this money to help them move state as a larger family.
She said: "We explained to our daughter that her sister is going to be coming to stay with us, and that we still love her very much. She seems ecstatic at the idea. Here's hoping it works out in actuality.
"I don't know what we're going to do about the other family. My biological daughter doesn't seem to remember them very much.
"I don't really want to involve them if I don't have to, but I know it's probably morally wrong not to let them know what happened.
"I mean, that poor mother must not have any idea what happened. I can only imagine how horrible that would be.
"For now though, I'm focusing on my daughters, and hoping to plan a beautiful life."
Since learning the 'truth' she says her relationship with her husband is stronger than ever and he is no longer interested in ending their marriage.
"I love him more than anything in the world, and he loves me. We've been through hell and come out the other side, and we are not interested in breaking up, or ending the relationship, or anything like that," she said.
Commenting on her post, one user said: "I'm so happy to hear you found your bio daughter and that you are able to adopt her! I hope everything works out for you!"
Another user added: "I'm so happy you found your daughter! But please get her some help as soon as she comes back home with you.
"The poor thing is going to be very traumatised and will probably have some abandonment issues coming from both you and the other families side!"
A third user said: "Damn, what a wild story! Good luck with your new life. I hope your bio daughter is doing well!"
