My 600-lb Life star James king has passed away at the tender age of 49.
The reality TV favourite passed away on Friday, following ‘several different health battles’.
James' family confirmed the news to TMZ today, with a heartwarming tribute to the young father-of-six.
He died in Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital while his obituary celebrated James as a ‘loving’ husband, son, brother, dad and grandfather.
Despite reports which state the 49-year-old suffered with an array of health issues including sepsis and cirrhosis of the liver, it is not yet known why James was rushed to the hospital leading to his untimely death.
A defeated James first appeared on appeared on the TLC show in the summer of 2018, and weighed in at a whopping 791lb when he made his debut.
After the show ended and his motivation dwindled, James gained a significant amount of weight again and tipped the scaled at 840lb.
James was popular with viewers of MY 600-lb Life and it was more than obvious that he was adamant to prove people wrong in his determination to shed the weight which was holding him back from living a happy and healthy life.
During the show, James insisted that he was going to prove the shows doctor wrong, and this made viewers love him even more.
Dr Younan Nowzaradan insinuated that James would not be able to shed any weight due to the fact he found it difficult to even walk, but in his determination, the reality TV star insisted that he would change the doctors mind on the matter.
In a poignant scene from the 2018 show, James admitted: "I don’t think it went as good as planned.
"He chewed me out. He told me I need to reach a certain weight before I come back to see him".
"I don’t know. It triggered something in me. I just wanted to prove to him that I can do it".
James is survived by his wife, Lisa Raisor King, four daughters, Carrie, Krystle Langston, Courtney and Bayley King, and two sons, Daemian and Austin.
Remarkably, the reality TV star also has 19 grandchildren.
His youngest daughter, Bayley, gave birth to James’s grandchild Aydan J’Mason Crumble just a number of months ago.
