MWL Launches Program for Reformed Religious Discourse

The Muslim World League (MWL) has launched a package of training programs to raise awareness of the renewal of religious discourse.

MWL Secretary-General Mohammad Al-Issa explained that these training programs come as an implementation of the plan to activate the Makkah Document, which scholars and intellectuals said is an important roadmap for contemporary religious discourse.

Issa attributed the document, which was created at the MWL international conference under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz last Ramadan, to a successful idea had by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.

The MWL chief also pointed out that the document will have wide-scale activation.

The MWL aspires to aid the contribution of scholars and thinkers of the Islamic nation in promoting awareness of the document through the enlightened discourse.

More so, he Supreme Council of MWL has announced the launching of the MWL’s “Islamic Jurisprudence Award,” and the “Holy Makkah Document” prize, with a total value of SR1 million ($260,000).

This was announced during the 44th session of the meeting of the Supreme Council of the MWL, which was attended by representatives of 82 countries.

Issa added that the MWL has taken upon itself to promote awareness of the renewal of religious discourse.
