MUV hits three two-wheeler riders on Prabhat Road in Pune

PUNE: Three two-wheeler riders suffered minor injuries after a MUV hit them around 4pm on Friday on Prabhat Road.

The Deccan Gymkhana police has registered a case against the MUV driver, a techie from Kharadi, and served him a notice. One of the injured motorcycle riders, Gokul Janardhan Adhagale (48) of Shivajinagar, lodged a complaint against the techie later in the night.

Assistant inspector Gajanan Chorbole of the Deccan Gymkhana police told TOI, “The MUV, driven by a techie, was heading toward Law College road from Khandojibaba Chowk on Karve Road, while the injured persons were heading in the opposite direction.”

“The four-wheeler’s tyre burst in front of the Buldhana Urban Cooperative Bank’s office on Prabhat Road, due to which the vehicle veered off from its path suddenly, and it took a sharp right turn,” Chorbole said.

“The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit three two-wheelers. All the injured persons were moved to a private hospital nearby. They were given a discharge after primary treatment. None of them sustained serious injuries,” Chorbole added.

"The techie came down to the Deccan area to pick up his friend as they had planned to attend a Satsang in the city," Chorbole said.

The other injured persons include a scooterist from Bhugaon and a motorcycle rider from Shukrawar Peth.
