The joint forces of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced that the implementation of the military part of the Riyadh Agreement was proceeding according to plan, adding that the separation of the forces in Abyan and their exit from Aden continued under the direct supervision of the coalition.

In a statement on Friday, the coalition stressed commitment and seriousness by the legitimate government and the Southern Transitional Council in implementing the military aspect of the agreement.

The joint forces began on Thursday with the field supervision of the implementation of the mechanism to accelerate the Riyadh Agreement by separating the military forces in Abyan Governorate (south of the country) and moving them towards the fronts.

The understandings between the two sides provide for the formation of a new government consisting of 24 ministers from various Yemeni political components, including the Southern Transitional Council, after implementing the military part within a week.

For his part, Muhammad Al Jaber, the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, stressed that the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement would take the Yemenis towards peace, security, stability, development, and a promising future.

Anwar Gargash, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, described the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement as one of the most important steps in constructive political dealing with the Yemeni crisis.

In turn, Abdul-Malik Al-Mikhlafi, the advisor to the Yemeni president, said that the economic situation and the citizens’ sufferings necessitated speeding up the implementation of the military and security part with credibility.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), for its part, highly valued the efforts deployed by Saudi Arabia to complete all the necessary arrangements to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement in order to help the Yemeni people end the security, political, economic, and humanitarian crises.
