Mustafi's disguise, Chris Eubank and The Simpsons - Arsenal fans' best reactions to Watford draw

It was a day to forget at Vicarage Road for Arsenal fans as the Gunners turned in a second half display that left a lot to be desired.

Defensive mistakes cost Arsenal dearly as Watford came back from a two goal deficit at half time to share the points.

Thanks to the second half collapse Arsenal are now three games in a row without a victory despite remaining clinical in front of goal.

Arsenal fans were quick to criticise on social media, with the defenders coming in for most of the criticism, but as always with Gunners fans on social media that criticism quickly turned to jokes about the performance.

David Luiz, who gave away a penalty to get Watford back on level terms, was the butt of most of the jokes but Unai Emery was also the subject of his fair share.

David Luiz

Some of the most exasperated reactions to yesterday's defeat focused around the summer signing from Chelsea following his late foul on Roberto Pereyra.

One missing Arsenal defender was touted as both a possible replacement for the ex-Chelsea man if he were to keep up his recent run of giving away penalties and a potential imposter.

Arsene Wenger not ruling out leading a team at next World Cup

His ability to defend in general was also called into question after a game which saw Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's two first half goals undone and caused Aubameyang himself to question Arsenal's defenders, saying: "I feel like we are literally giving goals to the opposition."

Luiz wasn't the only defender to be mocked by the Arsenal fans after the game with his centre-back partner Sokratis Papastathopoulos also on the recieving end of some of his own.

Unai Emery

The result and some of the decisions made during the game led to criticism of Unai Emery as well, and the Arsenal boss didn't help himself with the explanation he gave for one of his substitutions.

Arsenal's performance led to such steep criticism of Emery in some corners of social media that it could only really be faithfully portrayed with one specific Simpsons clip.

Nicolas Pepe and Granit Xhaka

While most of the attention was focused on the defensive howlers and Emery's choices there was still some space for other players to have fun made of them.

The summer's star signing Nicolas Pepe couldn't find any luck all game and was unable to find his way past Ben Foster in the Hornets goal.

And no Arsenal game would be complete without Granit Xhaka coming in for criticism.

That's despite a largely decent performance from the midfielder as he attempted to hold things together while his team collapsed around him.
