Mustafi, Luiz and Nelson start, no Lacazette - The team Arsenal fans want to see vs Everton

Arsenal go in search of back-to-back away wins in the Premier League when they entertain Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon.

It's a feat the Gunners haven't managed in the same season since the 2016/17 campaign, but one that has been made possible following the 3-1 win over West Ham United 12 days ago.

Perhaps the appointment of Mikel Arteta as the new head coach will give the north London outfit that new manager bounce which they didn't quite get with Freddie Ljungberg as interim boss.

Mikel Arteta's first Arsenal press conference in full

The Swede oversaw just one victory in his five games in this position, but will be in the dugout as Arteta's first game as head coach will be the Boxing Day trip to Bournemouth.

Prior to facing the media for a press conference on Friday afternoon, Arteta has left all the team decisions up to Ljungberg.

"I just said, 'You know them, you've been training with them, do what you feel is right'," Arteta revealed.

"I told them a little bit what I wanted from them and that's it."

Ahead of the game at Goodison Park, football.london offered fans the chance to step into Ljungberg/Atrtea's shoes and pick the team to take on the Toffees.

Supporters were asked who they'd like to start the game against Everton , and those who responded came up with some interesting selections.

As expected, Bernd Leno keeps his place in goal as he goes in search of a first clean sheet on the road since the 1-0 win over Newcastle United on the opening weekend of the new season.

In front of him, fans have called for Shkodran Mustafi to start at right-back with Calum Chambers on the opposite flank which is very much a surprise given how much the latter struggles at full-back.

The central defensive pairing in this team is Sokratis and David Luiz - a partnership which simply hasn't clicked as of yet.

The midfield three is Joe Willock, Lucas Torreira and Reiss Nelson - presumably in the role just behind the attacking trio in place of Mesut Ozil who is a doubt with a foot issue.

Things get rather interesting in attack as once again there's no room for Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal XI: Leno; Mustafi, Sokratis, David Luiz, Chambers; Willock, Torreira; Pepe, Nelson, Martinelli; Aubameyang
