Must draft plan for OBC reservation: Nana Patole to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray

MUMBAI: State Congress President Nana Patole on Sunday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to resolve row over OBC reservation in a time bound period.

“It was during the tenure of Devendra Fadnavis that OBCs lost political and educational reservation, however in last two and half years, the MahaVikasAghadi government has not taken concrete steps for restoring the reservation,’’ Patole said.

Patole said for a prolonged period, great injustice has been done on the OBC communities, whether political, economic or reservation in educational institutions, the OBC communities have been sidelined. “We claim to be a progressive state, still members of the OBC community are far away from the mainstream,’’ he said. Patole said the state government had taken a decision to construct 72 hostels for OBC girls and boys which has not been done. “We must draft a time bound plan to resolve these issues, other wise the members of the OBC will launch an agitation,” he said.
