Nottingham Forest fans have given their view on the incident which appeared to show Sheffield Wednesday defender Moses Odubajo congratulating Lewis Grabban after his goal against the Owls.
The incident has left Wednesday fans in uproar with manager Tony Pulis promising the address the issue after the game.
Odubajo took to social media to try and clarify the situation, insisting he was laughing because he expected the goal to be disallowed for a foul against Grabban.
Forest fans, relieved after their side’s much-needed 2-0 victory, have seen the funny side of the incident.
Here’s what supporters have been saying on our Nottingham Forest News Facebook page and NottinghamLive.
Kev Ward: I saw that and thought it was exactly as he says, he expected the goal to be disallowed, which was right. Was nice for us to get a bad decision in our favour for once though!
Pam Daws: Yes saw that lol. Must be friends.
Paul Gilman: Tbh I can see what they mean but I also think his reason for doing it was plausible because it did look a definite foul, but with our luck at present I’ll take that.
Philip Hardy: I think wed fans took the wrong meaning out of it.
surreyred: I was waiting for the goal to be ruled out. I thought there was a good chance Grabbs went in with high studs when winning the ball so without knowing one way or the other, I could see a defender mocking a scorer if he truly thought it wasn't going to count. I'd have done the same.
ScaryTerry: I thought I was seeing things. You know like my mind was going but I said to myself it’s just a senior moment. Scary you never saw anything. So he did high 5 Grabban.
Cheeks: Haha, I saw that on one of the replays. I thought they must've been old pals or something.
Penman52: Yes, I thought that too. No previous clubs in common so a very strange reaction and unconvincing explanation all round. Couldn't imagine Kenny Burns doing similar.
