Musselburgh locals asked whether they heard 'noisy' Whitehill Farm Road jewellery raid

Crooks bashed in a patio door with a boulder during a "noisy" jewellery raid in Musselburgh.

Police are urging anyone who heard anything suspicious near Whitehill Farm Road late on Boxing Day to come forward.

Officers say a quantity of jewellery and personal items were taken during the raid, which happened some time between 10pm on 26 December and 3am the following morning.

East Lothian Police say: "Entry to the premises was gained following a boulder being thrown through the rear window of a patio door. The means of entry would create a degree of noise.

"A quantity of jewellery and other personal items were stolen from within.

"If you remember seeing or hearing anything suspicious at that time, or if you have been offered jewellery for sale recently, please contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 1220 of 27/12/2020."
