Musselburgh horse racing tips and betting from Garry Owen

Scottish racing fans are looking ahead to Musselburgh today and a cracking card of action.

There are six jumps events to get stuck into and Record Sport tipster Garry Owen takes you through his fancies at the meeting.

TOMMY’S OSCAR (2:10) can continue Ann Hamilton superb season in the Hogmaneigh Hurdle.

The six-year-old built on some fine efforts when brushing aside Thibault over 2m 4f at Haydock.

Hamilton’s gelding then defied dropping back to two miles when cosily denying Geronimo at Doncaster.

There is plenty more to come from this pacey type who can shrug off a well-earned 3lb penalty.

GOLD DES BOIS (2:50) can sparkle for Iain Jardine in the trappy Auld Reekie Handicap Chase.

The gelding was a fine second in decent company on his first two starts for the Dumfries handler.

He put in another good shift when chasing home the well-treated Some Reign over track and trip.

The 10-year-old still lurks on an attractive mark so he can deservedly open his account this time.

ANGEL OF HARLEM (3:25) can top the charts for Olly Murphy in the staying handicap hurdle.

The mare showed signs of a revival when third to Quick Draw back over three miles at Uttoxeter.

That race is working out pretty well so this tough type can take advantage of an attractive mark.
