JAIPUR: Members of Muslim community on Sunday welcomed pilgrims on kanwar yatra in different parts of the Walled City.
DCP (North) Paris Deshmukh told TOI that several persons from the Muslim community offered water bottles to pilgrims and showered rose petals.
The pilgrims were welcomed at Ganga Pol, Pathano ka Chowk, Ramganj Chaupar, Badi Rehmaniya, and Surajpole Bazar. From early morning, kanwar yatris passed through the city peacefully.
Deshmukh said that the police had also made adequate security arrangements in different areas for pilgrim routes. "Different religious communities offered fruits and water to welcome kanwar yatris. It is a testimony of the city's peaceful culture," he said. tnn
