Liverpool Muslim community groups have come together to call for unity and calm after a bomb attack at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
Al Rahma Mosque (on behalf of Islamic Centres in Liverpool), the PAL Centre and the Liverpool Arabic Centre in Toxteth, have issued statements paying tribute to emergency services and calling for unity and calm.
Thoughts are also offered to the family and the injured driver caught up in the incident.

Liverpool Muslim Society - Al Rahma Grand Mosque of Liverpool have issued the following statement:
‘The car explosion at Liverpool Women’s Hospital has shocked us all. This is a cowardly and heinous attack which we condemn in the strongest possible terms. This hospital has a special place at the heart of our city where so many children are born and where people from all communities work.
"We pay tribute to our emergency services and all those who have worked through the night to keep the city safe. Whilst inquiries are ongoing and there is little information about the incident, we urge full cooperation with the police.
We pray for all our communities, and appeal for calm and vigilance at this time. Our Mosques and Islamic Centres are on hand to support our city in whatever way we can.’
PAL Centre's statement said: "We, the PAL Centre condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the heinous terrorist attacks on Liverpool Women's Hospital 14th November 2021 at 11:00am.
"Such people are an unacceptable affront to all humanity. We at the PAL Centre extend our deepest condolences to the victim of this terrorist attack and his family.
"We reaffirm our solidarity with our great city of Liverpool and resolve in the fight against terrorism in all its forms and wherever it may be this has shocked our Community in Liverpool.
"We remain united in combating these horrendous acts.
"Such acts sometimes have a re-occurrence and impact on the innocent Muslim Community with race hate crime. [Muslim communities] are just as shocked as all the local communities and Citizens of Liverpool.
"We salute our Merseyside Police, the Emergency Services and our Great NHS Staff who do tremendous work.’
Liverpool Arabic Centre have issued the following statement: ‘We were all terribly sorry to witness the mindless acts of terrorism in our city on Sunday morning.
"No words are enough to condemn such acts, at the same time we strongly condemn the direct blame aimed at Muslims and Muslim communities in general on the social media.
"Our thoughts to the injured driver’s family."
