PATTANI - A Muslim couple were attacked and wounded by gunmen in Yaring district on Tuesday morning.
Maoasmi Niseng, 42, was shot in the left shoulder and his wife Nooreeya Mahsae, 37, was hit in the neck and right shoulder.
The two victims were being treated at Yaring Hospital, police said.
The couple were attacked at Moo 4 village in tambon Pulakong, Yaring district, about 8.35am, police said.
Police and explosive ordnance disposal officers were sent to examine the scene.
The motive for the attack was not known.
Manager Online said the couple were sitting in front of their house. Armed men entered through the back of the residence and fired shots at them, the report said.
