AYUTTHAYA: A strong summer storm hit a Muslim community in tambon Sam Muang of Lat Bua Luang district on Saturday afternoon, damaging 13 houses. Nobody was hurt.
The damage was mostly to the roofs of the houses, which were partially blown away by the storm.
Vachara Krasaechat, the Lat Bua Luang district chief, said he had instructed the Sam Muang tambon administration organisation (TAO) to mobilise local defence volunteers and soldiers to help repair the damaged houses.
The district chief said it was fortunate nobody was hurt by the storm, which felled several big trees but caused no damage to power posts.
Vinai Amnuayporn, a villager whose house was among those damaged, said the storm struck so suddenly that most villagers were completely unprepared.
