The CEO of one of Greater Manchester's online retail giants has described his pride following the firm's M.E.N Business Awards win - and said it helped the organisation connect even more with the local community.
Steve Oliver, CEO of musicMagpie, has spoken about the firm's successes since winning the Business of the Year (£100m+turnover) award back in 2019 - the last time the event was held.
He said the win helped boost the profile of the firm, which earlier this year completed its float on the London Stock Exchange's AIM market in a move that valued it at over £200m.

In 2019, musicMagpie won the Turnover £100+ prize, sponsored by PwC.
The firm, launched by entrepreneurs Mr Oliver and Walter Gleeson from the former's garage in 2007, was crowned the winner beating Salford recruiter Morson Group and business services provider Verastar to the prize.
Speaking this week, CEO Mr Oliver said: "Winning the award in 2019 was a huge achievement for us and is something we are incredibly proud of.
"Winning the award helped to raise our profile both locally and nationally and gave us great exposure ahead of our entry onto the London Stock Exchange earlier this year.
"But perhaps most importantly, winning the award allowed us to connect even more with our local community, which is something that is extremely important to us as a business and made our many wonderful colleagues even more proud to be part of the Magpie family."
PwC is the sponsor of this year's Turnover £100m+ prize.
Emma Suchland, PwC's private business partner, said: "There’s no hiding the fact that the economic uncertainty, compounded by the impact of a global pandemic, seen over the last two years has created probably the most challenging climate in which to operate a business for many years.
"However, that doesn’t seem to have had an undue impact on the determination of many businesses to rise to those challenges – evidenced in the many successful North West businesses that the region is renowned for.
"I would encourage people to enter the awards and show that their confidence, resilience and hard work continue to be fundamental to their future success and that of the region."
