Musician performs Ride of the Valkyries on tuba to mock KKK protesters

The musician followed the march (Diana Martin, via YouTube)

A protester has filmed one musician’s attempt to highlight the absurdity of KKK protesters.

Diana Martin, who was present at the march to show solidarity with the anti-KKK supporters, followed the unknown sousaphone player along the pavement as he performs "Ride of the Valkyries" in a bid to mock the group.

The short clip has already got almost 800,000 views since Ms Martin posted it last week.

The musician also plays "The Air is Getting Slippery" by US band Primus – a group characterised by its hugely irreverent style and composition.

The KKK marched through Columbia on 19 July to protest South Carolina’s legislators’ decision to take down the Confederate flag from above their official offices following the Charleston shooting.

Although South Carolina’s governor Nikki Haley asked people to stay away from the statehouses – where the KKK protest intended to culminate – roughly 2,000 people turned out to watch the demonstration.

Writing below the video, Ms Martin commented that there were more protesters than KKK.
