Imagine Dragons are a huge act with a big reputation. And they’re coming to Bangkok. Over the years, the guys have become famous for their quality live shows. So it’s no surprise that they’re upcoming visit to the kingdom is creating such a buzz.
The quartet - vocalist Dan Reynolds, 30, guitarist Wayne Sermon, 33, bassist Ben McKee, 32, and drummer Daniel Platzman, 31 - rose to international fame in 2012, when their single, "It's Time" was covered in the musical TV series Glee. Hits such as "Radioactive" and "Demons" followed. And in 2015, Thai fans got to witness their dramatic live show when they visited the kingdom for their Smoke + Mirrors Tour.
Before the guys return on January 11 for Imagine Dragons Evolve World Tour Live in Bangkok at Oasis Arena, Show DC, they answered our questions via email.

Why did you decide to make Evolve more positive?
Dan: It wasn't a deliberate choice. It was just a reflection of what was happening in our lives. Smoke + Mirrors was written at a difficult time for all of us emotionally. So much had changed so quickly in our lives. But after that album, we were able to find more peace. That said, we did want to be more specific about the sound. You can hear that in the more minimalist approach.
What was it like to work with several different producers on the album?
Dan: It's always helpful to find new people to challenge you creatively. Not every collaboration works, but you always learn something new.
Songs like "Yesterday" and "Thunder" look to the past. Do you ever want to change anything about your past?
Dan: Our songs tend to be really personal, so it's natural that there’ll be some reflection in them. But there’s no reason to change the past. Learning to love and accept who you are now requires you to accept the decisions that brought you here.

Why did you decide to perform in Thailand again?
Dan: The people of Thailand are warm and welcoming every time we come. As long as they'll have us, we'll keep coming back.
What can concertgoers expect from the show?
Dan: This album and tour is a new direction and story. We're got over three albums of songs, so we’re able to make every night different. We have no doubt it’ll be a night to remember.
