Musical based on hit comedy Friends is taking place near Bristol

Unless you've been living under a very large rock, the chances are you've seen at least one episode of Friends in your lifetime.

Believe it or not it has been 25 years since our six favourite TV friends joined us in our living rooms for the first time.

It didn't take long for Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey and Ross to cement a place in our hearts and the long-running sitcom is still as fresh today as it was back then - highlighted by its continued popularity on Netflix.

And later this year there will be a chance to see them in a whole new light (well, almost) as a parody musical based on the show takes place near Bristol.

Friends: The One Where Joey Speaks French (Channel 4)

Friendsical opens at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham before embarking on a nationwide tour, including a full run at the Edinburgh Festival from August 1 - 25.

It was written by Friends super-fan Miranda Larson, whose recent theatre credits include Tom Fletcher's Christmasaurus for the Hammersmith Apollo.

The plot to the show is "When Ross’ wife leaves him for another woman, he fears he will never find love again. But then Rachel runs back into his life… will he end up with his one true love?"

All the places in Bristol which will feature in BBC drama The Trial of Christine Keeler

Featuring original songs such as ‘(He’s her) Lobster!’, ‘Richard’s Moustache’ and ‘You’re Over Me? When Were You Under Me?’, Friendsical sees all the gang take on naked Thursdays, a power cut, and a dinosaur convention.

The production team emphasised that this is a parody not to be confused with no affiliation to the Warner Bros series.

Tickets

Friendsical runs at The Everyman Theatre between July 17 - 20.

Tickets are available on The Everyman's website .
