Music Weekly podcast: Sixty years of singles charts and Cheryl Cole's garage

Welcome to another slice of Music Weekly. Joining Alexis and Kieran this week is the Guardian's Tim Jonze.

After a brief pick over the bones of Eurovision, we've got an interview with 2:54. You may not have heard of them, but then it's pretty hard to Google a band with a numerical name. But 2:54 are Colette and Hannah Thurlow, and their self-released songs excited Alan Moulder and Rob Ellis enough to record their debut album. The Guardian's Rebecca Nicholson meets them.

Cheryl Cole gets remixed in Singles Club, which features tracks by P Square, Royal T and Blood Diamonds.

Hang on to your bunting, because it's not just the Queen's jubilee – the UK singles chart celebrates 60 years. Caspar Llewellyn Smith speaks to Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company, and gets a potted history of the British pop chart.

Plus … news of our new podcast series on European music, hosted by the lovely Gilles Peterson.

We'll be back next week, but until then, leave your thoughts below. Thanks for listening.
