Something old, something new, something borrowed and a bit of blue for the dads, it's all here in this week's Music Weekly podcast (apart from the blue, which was ultimately cut).
The new, to go about things the wrong way around, is the third album from Keane; the one with the funky lead-off single, Spiralling, and the fresh direction (click to see what Alexis Petridis thinks of it). Rosie Swash speaks to Tom Chaplin and Tim Rice-Oxley from the band about not dealing well with fame, coming off the rails and, yes, their hopes for the human race.
The old, no disrespect intended, is Saint Etienne, the 90s art-pop merchants who are set to release a retrospective of their work coinciding with the 18th birthday of Heavenly, the record label with which they are synonymous. Sarah Cracknell and Bob Stanley talk to Paul MacInnes about touring with the Manics, their manifesto for pop and ponder the whereabouts of Barry Mooncult from Flowered Up.
Elsewhere we borrow Caspar Llewellyn-Smith from Observer Music Monthly to help us review new music from Deerhunter, EPMD and Grace Jones (Caspar's choice – she's the cover star of this Sunday's mag).
All that plus Michael Hann's tribute to the Left Banke in the Item with No Name and all your various forms of Faceback.
While were on that subject, please post your thoughts on this week's guests, tracks and everything else that matters, below.
