Music Weekly: Metronomy and La Roux

It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life, it's a new edition of Music Weekly packed full of all the interviews and reviews you've come to expect. (Unless you've never listened before, in which case you may be expecting something completely different and slightly weird). Our main guest this week is Metronomy, aka Joe Mount, who pops into the pod and talks with Paul MacInnes about his flair for off-kilter pop and why he'd turn down Madonna (if she asked for production work, at least).

Next up, former man-about-town Tim Jonze talks to synth-pop star La Roux about getting emotional between songs, why taxi drivers don't understand her hairdo and, of course, how it feels to be hotly tipped for 2009.

In an exciting first, Paul MacInnes and Rosie Swash are joined by the Guardian's chief music critic Alexis Petridis to review the week's best new music. There's a fine remix of Grace Jones's William's Blood by Belgian outfit Aeroplane, the new Neon Neon single and Cat Power's most recent (and possibly last) covers EP. Last, but by no means least, king of squonk Michael Hann waxes lyrical about Guided By Voices in the feature with no name.
