Music Weekly - featuring TV on the Radio

Like Barry White, this week's pod is big and fat, but unlike the soul legend it's full of life with our lead guests, band-of-the-moment TV on the Radio.

With their new album out in a couple of weeks, now seemed the right time for Rosie Swash to talk to the Brooklyn band about matters as diverse as science, utopia and Wall E. Suffice to say that Dave Sitek and co are not particularly happy with the current state of things.

Paul "New Band of the Day" Lester joins Rosie and Paul MacInnes in the pod to compare and contrast their musical choices in Singles Club. There's new music from Shelleyann Orphan, Roots Manuva and Matt Helders (in a remix stylee) and Fujiya and Miyagi. And if you've never heard of Shelleyan Orphan, don't worry, Mr Lester will give you their ENTIRE life story.

After that it's to Reading and some festival chat with Matt Tong from Bloc Party, the Canadian hardcore merchants Fucked Up (or F-ed Up as they're known in their native country) and Wild Beasts. Tim Jonze brought home the Tong bacon and got Wild Beasts to reveal just what Metallica have been eating in the canteen (raw chicken with blood sauce, apparently) so kudos to him.

All that plus the usual feedbackery AND a new featurette too. In an attempt to expand the range of music we cover beyond simply the new and the hot, we're going to profile some of the artists we like who are a bit, well, different. Paul kicks it off this week with two minutes on Vieux Farka Touré. Give it a listen and let us know what you think in the usual place. We'd also like you to give it a name.

So, we want your comments, reviews and suggestions for names this week. But to do any of that, you'll have to listen here first: Music Weekly featuring TV on the Radio
